A White Kitchen

Five years ago we renovated the kitchen. At the time our existing kitchen was a interesting salmon pink tone with laminate benches and a layout that wasn't great for storage.

BEFORE PHOTO

When designing the new kitchen my wants were:

  • Must be a design that wouldn't date. I didn't want to change my mind with colours, finishes or fixtures in the near future.

  • I wanted it to be light and bright as the room didn't receive any sunlight until late into the afternoon.

  • I didn't want it to be a stand alone feature but instead part of the house that worked with the flow of each room leading off it (living room and laundry).

  • I wanted a large island as we had previously lacked bench space and this was something we needed to create.

  • Adding pantry storage as we currently didn't have a pantry.

  • A hardy benchtop that wouldn't stain or chip was also an absolute must.

So while checking off the list above I designed the following kitchen with the specs listed below.

CABINET MAKER: Rosemount Kitchens

CABINET FINISH: Polytec Vinyl Wrap Ultra White

HANDLES: A bespoke design made for us by a close friend. You can however locate similar handles here

SPLASHBACK: Porcelain Statuario from Mulitiform Stone

TAP: Estilo WELS Tap from Bunnings which we went and had electroplated in gold as 5 years ago this was cheaper than paying for a $1000 gold tap. Luckily coloured tapware prices have now dropped.

FRIDGE: Fisher & Paykel Stainless Steel Fridge

OVEN: Maxfaro 900 Stainless Steel Oven

FLOORING: Vintage Vineyard by Kustom Timber
